Little Surf Co.

Our purpose is to provide an educational, inspirational, and safe surf experience for all levels of surfers. We provide core surfing fundamentals such as water safety, wave selection, paddling, and catching waves. We teach adults and kids alike, and we LOVE working with families! It’s our mission to have each student leave our session with a new found confidence and respect for the ocean. We offer summer camps, our school year Surf and Science Academy program, Ocean Education Courses, After-School programs, Mid-Day Surf homeschool programs, private & semi-private lessons, and small group classes, seven days a week from dawn patrol to sunset between towers 18 and 24 in Huntington Beach! We are permitted by the City of Huntington Beach to instruct lessons year-round and all of our instructors are CPR certified.

Little Surf Co. founders, Jason and Kayla grew up in Orange County and have been married since 2012. They have two young boys, who love hitting the beach with them any chance they get. Coach Jason grew up in Fountain Valley and has been an avid surfer in Huntington Beach his entire life. He has experience as a surf instructor coaching for the past 20 years. He is also American Red Cross CPR certified and is a first aid/CPR/AED instructor so rest assured, your little explorers will be in great hands. Prior to running Little Surf Co., Kayla spent 10 years in the classroom teaching a variety of Communication courses at local colleges. Therefore, incorporating education into Little Surf Co.’s daily schedule is a top priority to Jason and Kayla because they understand the value of hard work and a positive attitude. If you would like your child to have a great surf experience from caring people, then Little Surf Co. is the place for him/her!

Summer 2024 SURF CAMP

Come catch waves with a surf school that’s educational, inspirational, and safe! We focus on surfing fundamentals, water safety, wave selection, paddling, and catching waves. This summer program focuses on the basics of surfing. Boards, wetsuits & rashguards are provided. Little Squirts (Ages 4-6 years old) / Surf Groms (Ages 7-14 years old).

WHERE TO MEET

We are located at Goldenwest St. and PCH in Huntington Beach, CA. There is metered street parking along PCH. You can also park in the local neighborhoods and walk across the street at the crosswalk at Goldenwest Street. We are stationed at the bottom of the stairs/ramp between towers 20 and 22.

Cancellation Policy

 A Customer has up to 24 hrs after registering to cancel or to be refunded for lessons, programs, or camps.  Any registration for one of these options that takes place within 72 hours of the programs start date will not be refunded.

Homeschool Programs

We accept charter funds from various schools. We provide school year Enrichment Courses, Morning Surf Classes, Learning Center Classes, Midday Surf Programs, and Private Lessons. Charter school families may opt to use charter school funds towards these programs. Any additional costs/programs that you register for will be charged out of pocket.

* Families are required to submit their enrichment certificate or purchase order request through their charter school/teacher prior to registering/booking a program, class, or lesson with us. Once a PO is submitted, please email, call, or text Emily to register/book.*

2023/2024 Programs Offered

• 4 Lessons of Morning Surf and Science Academy — $389 month to month (program runs 9 months)

  • Offered Monday-Friday from 8:30am-10:45am

  • Students will spend their mornings with Little Surf Co. honing their surfing skills and ocean knowledge in a semi-private setting with our top notch surf instructors. Includes (4) 2.25 hour sessions over a one month period.

• Art + Spanish — $174 month to month  (runs 9 months) 

  • Mondays 11:30am-2:45pm

  • Students will take their classes on the beach! Art and Spanish will be conducted simultaneously as the younger grades and older grades will switch mid-way through the lesson. Students will get a well-rounded experience that makes learning fun. 3.25 hour session held once per week.

• ELA + Math — $348 month to month  (runs 9 months)

  • Tuesday,Thursday 11:30am-2:45pm

  • These two core subjects will be taught indoors in our classroom on Tuesdays and Thursdays weekly. They will develop a love for learning as we assist each child in reaching their academic goals. 3.25 hour session held twice per week.

• History + Science — $174 month to month  (runs 9 months)

  • Wednesdays 11:30am-2:45pm

  • These two subjects will be taught indoors in our classroom on Wednesdays weekly. In two separate blocks, we intend to inspire children with hands-on experiments and lessons that make history and science come to life. 3.25 hour session held once per week.

• Ocean Education — $174 month to month (runs 9 months)

  • Fridays 11:30am-2:45pm

  • Students will dive deep into a science-based study of different parts of the Ocean. From the Wetlands to the Deep Sea, kids will have an opportunity to learn about ocean animals, plants, and ecosystems through lessons, crafts, and hands-on experiments. 3.25 hour session held once per week.

• 2hr Private Surf Lesson — $159

  • Students will increase their knowledge of the ocean and improve their surfing skills as they work one on one with one of our stellar surf coaches.

• 5 week Midday surf program — $435

  • Students will spend their afternoon with Little Surf Co. honing their surfing skills and ocean knowledge in a semi-private and private setting with our top notch surf instructors. Program runs 5 consecutive weeks in a row.

• Registration Fee — $165

  • This is an annual fee. This can be used for students who attend one of our Surf & Science Academy morning surf classes once or twice a week during the fall and spring semesters. It may also be applied to the LSC Learning Center Classes that take place either at the beach or at the learning center indoors.

LESSONS/PAcKAGES

Refund Policy: A customer has up to 24 hours after registration to cancel or be refunded for private lessons, semi-private lessons, packages, after school programs, Friday mid-day programs, and summer programs/camps. Any registration for one of these options that takes place within 72 hours of the program start date will not be able to be refunded. The customer however can reallocate their payment amount to a different program or date range. The surf portion of the Surf and Science Academy is a full year commitment and has a no-refund policy. Customers can only cancel their admission to the program with a 2-month notice.

*Little Surf Co. reserves the right to cancel a contract or remove a child/family from our program at any time, exercising discretion to ensure the optimal learning environment for all participants. This policy allows us to address unforeseen circumstances or concerns, maintaining our commitment to providing a positive and effective educational experience. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in upholding the standards of Little Surf Co..
